A Philosophical Journey on the Expedition to India
In his youth Pyrrho joined the expeditionary army of Alexander the Great on its march to India, where, by tradition, he encountered Indian sages who advocated asceticism and a life of detachment from things; this cross-cultural philosophical contact is seen by later scholars as one early instance of possible intellectual exchange between ancient Greek skepticism and the Indian philosophical tradition, though the precise degree of influence is hard to establish.
