Twin brother of Romulus, suckled at the same she-wolf. Together they overthrew the usurper, only to fall out at the final step of founding the city. With one scornful leap he mocked his brother’s low wall, and paid for it with his life — Rome wrote the founding footnote "law above kinship" in his blood.
