The Afterthought, Husband of Pandora
Prometheus’s brother, whose name means "afterthought" — the kind who acts first and thinks later. Though warned again and again "accept no gift from Zeus," he married the Pandora that Zeus sent, and so humanity received that famous jar.
The brothers were tasked with distributing survival traits to all creatures, and Epimetheus rushed in: claws and fangs to the beasts, wings to the birds, scales to the fish — and by the time it was humanity’s turn, the traits were used up. Prometheus had to steal fire and craft to make up for it. Humanity’s "having nothing" came from one bad allocation of resources.
